If you want to train in Oceanside, the quickest way to narrow it down is to start with the format, not the address. The city has coached group gyms along Oceanside Boulevard, strength gyms downtown, boutique studios in South Oceanside along South Coast Highway, martial arts schools, and a long list of independent trainers. Almost everything sits within a short drive of the pier.
Pick one of four starting points. Want coaching and a class schedule? Look at the group gyms. Want to lift on your own? Look at the strength gyms. Want one person watching your form? Look at the personal trainers. Want something calmer or more technical? Look at the Pilates and yoga studios. Every place below is in the Oceanside directory, and each listing says what the business says about itself.
Group gyms and event training
Oceanside is a good place to train for HYROX and DEKA style events, and a few gyms here say so directly.
MROC Training is a veteran-owned, family-operated hybrid gym founded in 2014. Its coach-led, capped classes mix strength, conditioning, running and HIIT, with training for HYROX, DEKA, Spartan and Tough Mudder events.
OMODE Training House is on Oceanside Boulevard and offers coached strength, endurance and HYROX preparation classes, plus open gym, personal training and one-day drop-ins. It opens around 5 a.m. on weekdays.
Oceanside CrossFit has operated since 2007 and offers CrossFit, HYROX, Olympic weightlifting, open gym hours and 24-hour access.
Stone Impact is on South Coast Highway and is owned by a coach who competes in HYROX and DEKA. It offers group classes and personal training, with a sauna, cold plunge and compression area.

Strength gyms and open gym
If you already know what you are doing and want space, equipment and a bit of privacy, these are different from each other.
The Oceanside Gym is a downtown bodybuilding and powerlifting gym opened in 2024, with heavy free weights, machines, small-group strength classes, a Saturday class called the OSide Circuit and an infrared sauna.
Haus Of Fitness is a women-owned private gym of about 5,600 square feet on Oceanside Boulevard. It is membership-based with secure access from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and independent trainers run their own coaching businesses inside it. It does not run public group classes.
Habitat Fitness is also on Oceanside Boulevard and offers day passes, so you can try the gym before joining. Its listing says public details about equipment and classes are limited, so check its website or visit.
Booty by Barbells is a women-focused strength gym with glute-focused small-group classes and private training. A separate Reset Room has a hot-rock sauna, cold plunge, red light and compression.

How to choose
Visit two places in the same week and ask each what a first visit looks like, how many people are in a class and what it costs. Check the schedule against your real week. Use the Oceanside city page to compare everything side by side.
